It's always the odd stuff......

Since the IO got back from NY he's felt bad.  He had a headache that went from the top of his head to the base of his neck making it feel a bit stiff (me-meningitis?  him -  no, or else I'd be dead by now),  pain on the left side of his body including tingling in his arm (me-um, heart attack?!!?   him - no, I dont feel the pressure on my chest) and a weird rash on his back.  Since he has lyme disease already and we just got back from NY, he assumed it was another bout with lyme.  I had my doubts since these symptons were different.  He finally went to the ER this past Saturday morning and after a CAT scan the dr decided that he was on the verge of pancreatitis.  His pancreas was inflamed but he didnt think it was *quite* to the -itis stage.  He's sent home with the instructions of drink plenty of fluids and cut out the alcohol.  Still under the effects of percoset, he's feeling better and hungry so he eats a ham sandwich.  Now he's doubled over in pain again.

When we went to visit my new nephew, my knits were very well received.  However Elliot is such a peanut

that the size 6 months sweater will be floating on him this winter and the hat will probably fit him NEXT winter.  But better too big than too small.

While there, my other nephew held up a mitten and asked if they were the crazy socks I made for his cousin.  I said no, and showed him the pair I did make (Delaney brought them down to show me).  I asked him if he would like a pair and the look on his face was priceless!  PS I now have drawings of feet to make him a pair of socks, his sister a pair of socks and Delaney has requested a THIRD pair of socks!!  I told her that since she already had two pairs she would have to wait a bit.  I told him he'd get them by Thanksgiving when his new sister is born

(yep I'll be knitting for that little one as well) and like a true negotiator he says "or maybe sooner".  Guess I'll be casting on for those soon.

Meanwhile I star…

We're BAAAACK!

You know you've racked up a lot of miles when you get an oil change before you go away and need another one when you come back!

We are back baby!!!  And I'm so happy abt it!  We had a great time with family and friends, but there is nothing like sleeping in your own bed.  I posted on facebook when we got home:

Be it ever so humble, messy and in need of repair, there is NO place like home!

We got home late Thursday night and I've been trying to formulate a post ever since.  I've had a few good ones, but can't seem to get them down on *paper*.  I have yet to download my pictures from my camera and my phone so I've got nothing to post.  I'm hoping to do that all tomorrow.

I will share one funny story with you so that this post is not for nothing.

After I dropped the IO off at LaGuardia, the kids and I planned on going into the City.  While we couldnt afford to stay overnight, it would have been wrong to drive around NYC and not stop by.  So I get out my directi…

It's done!!!

What a great little sweater this turned out to be! I'll post details later, dont have the time now but I wanted to share the picture. I made a matching hat.

It seems a bit big, especially for this little peanut, but the brim can be folded up and it still looks cute.

I see Elliot Saturday so this was done in the nick of time.

More pics to come as we meet this little guy!!!
