A little bit of cross stitching

Image
I found a tote bag of some cross stitch that I started a LONG time ago.  I still love the projects, but my eyes and mind aren't what they used to be.  The three in this tote bag are what I refer to as confetti stitching.  For those of you who don't cross stitch, confetti stitching is when you have a project that has a lot of detailing and shading.  In order to get that look using fabric and colored thread, you need to change colors.  A LOT!  I've actually been in the mood to stitch (this is what happens when I go thru my stash) and I decided to work on one of these guys.

~sigh~

I pulled out Bag Ladies.  I always think I will move faster on this than I actually do.  The bags are half stitches, which means half the work, right??  In theory, yes.  In reality I need to pay attention to the color and shading so that the bags turn out right.

Here it is back in Dec when I put a few stitches in it

and here it is from today

I worked some more on the beige bag (SO. MUCH. BEIGE!) a…

FOR TODAY
Outside my window... it's dark.  I have been a busy girl today!  Laundry and grocery shopping and more laundry and closet organization.  And more laundry.
I am thinking... I'm making a mental list of all that I want to do in the house.  It is a long list.....
I am thankful... for good friends who also craft.  I met up with some local friends on Friday.  We try to get together once a month to either knit or sew (depending on your craft of choice) and then we have lunch!  Everybody brings something and we talk until we have to leave.   On Monday I got to meet up with Dee.  This was LONG overdue!  We were trying to figure out when we last got to meet up and the consensus is it's been at least a year.  WAY too long.  We have such a good time together, we *try* to stay quiet in the book store, but we're usually having such a good time, ppl leave us alone!
In the kitchen... I tried a new recipe today for dinner, a chicken carbonara.  Meh.  Not the best.  Wont be makin…

FOR TODAY
Outside my window... it is rainy.  We had some HEAVY rains and a tornado watch, but that seems to have passed.   It's bringing with it a cool front.  Tomorrow we have a high of 62.  I will take it!!!   While I would love to be in all that snow everybody seems to be getting, I'll keep my cloudy 62 than have to deal with the ice that seems to be coming with this storm.
I am thinking... that I actually might be back to my old self by the end of March.  I'm seeing some extra movement that I didn't have a couple weeks back.  I have noticed that my energy level is much better.  Yesterday I was able to drop Baby Girl off at school, come home and walk a half mile, take a shower, make breakfast and get back to the school in an hour.  I helped with the separating of the current fundraiser, left to get #1 Son, make him a grilled ham and cheese, take him and Baby Girl to the library, the gym (to sign us up) and Target.  Dinner was Chick Fil A and  I was in bed by 8pm, bu…

FOR TODAY

Outside my window... is it warm.  I'm not complaining!!  But our weather has been weird here too.  Last Thursday we never got out of the 50s.  Yesterday we broke heat records at 86!!  Even the weathermen say it's weird.  PLUS any forecast more than two days out is completely off by the time it gets here.  Our forecast this week.....
Yesterday they had us in the higher 80s on the wknd.  Now it's not as hot.  I'll take it!

I am thinking... that my brain is NOT thinking!!  Today was Baby Girl's A Honor Roll Breakfast.  I knew it was coming up, but I totally forgot it was today.  Ok Baby Girl did too, but I don't forget these things.  Thank goodness a friend of mine texted me to see if I was showing up.  I was able to see her get her certificate.  Very proud of that girl of mine! My phone takes lousy pics.  Here is one of her against the wall.

I am thankful... for the little strides of health.  I have them, they are just slow.  I am thankful for them nonethe…
